Data Changelog
A record of when and how our matchup data was updated in response to Overwatch patches and new hero releases. Number-only tuning doesn't change matchup reasoning, so we revisit the data when reworks or functional ability changes ship.

Merged the checker into the top page
- You can now start the checker right on the top page (no more extra click on a Start button). The old hero-select page (/select) redirects to the top page.
- Fixed a bug where submitting the checker on the English site bounced back to the select screen instead of showing results.

Real-match observation: added D.Va → Hazard
- Added D.Va's edge over Hazard based on real-match observation: Defense Matrix eats the burst of his main weapon, Bonespur.

Patch response
Season 4: Added new hero D.Mon
- Added D.Mon, the new tank released Aug 11 (hero #53), with kit analysis and 14 matchups (6 favorable, 8 unfavorable). Since she just launched, only matchups clearly supported by kit structure are included; more will follow as real-match data comes in.
- Reflected the Aug 11 perk swaps (Orisa: Heavy Javelin / Cassidy: Tumbleweed / Jetpack Cat: Purrfect Form). Number-only tuning doesn't affect matchup reasoning, so those are unchanged.

Added the all-hero matchup matrix page
- Added a one-page matchup matrix for all heroes (/matrix), with role filters and reason tooltips.
- Hero detail pages now list each hero's perks.

July 15 patch follow-up
- Removed Doomfist's edge over Sojourn and updated matchup reasoning for the change to Mauga's single-gun spread.

Data audit
Real-match audit and new-hero matchup expansion
- Audited matchups against real matches and streams: removed weakly-supported pairs and flipped directions where the evidence pointed the other way (e.g. trimmed Sombra's favorable matchups from 22 to 17, reining in "hack beats everything" reasoning).
- Expanded matchups for the newer heroes (Anran, Emre, Jetpack Cat, Vendetta, Shion, Sierra, Mizuki, Domina) over three passes, so every hero now has 11+ matchups.

Added kit analysis to hero detail pages
- Hero pages now show each hero's effective range, mobility, hitbox size, playstyle, and per-ability trait tags — so you can see the "why" behind each matchup from kit structure.

Data audit
Rebuilt all matchup data on kit analysis
- Re-analyzed every hero's abilities with trait tags and rebuilt the matchup data from scratch, following three rules: official ability names only, base abilities as the main rationale (no ult-reliant reasoning), and no pair without a solid reason.
